Helen is based in Woodend, in country Victoria, and writes poetry, memoir and short stories. In 2021 she was published in American Writers Review (also 2019 and 2018), Unusual Work, Oxygen, Poetry D’Amour, and Drifting Sands. Other publications include Creatrix, Poetry Matters, Love’s Footprint, Short and Twisted and 21D journal. Her haiku have appeared in Poetry for Public Transport. Helen was a prize recipient in the 2019 Poetry Matters ‘Runaway World’ competition.
Helen’s poetry, haiku, memoir and short fiction appear in Elwood Writers’ anthology Every Second Tuesday.
Spoken word achievements include featured poet and twice poet of the month at regional Victoria’s Chamber Poets and winner of the Woodend Winter Arts Festival Poetry in the Pub competition (2018). Helen regularly broadcasts on Vision Australia Radio’s Cover to Cover program, as part of Elwood Writers’ occasional programs.
Helen has spent her working life in public relations and communications, particularly in the not-for-profit sector, and for many years was a volunteer English tutor assisting migrants and refugees with their communication skills.
